Jurriaan Huskens is a Full Professor at the University of Twente’s TechMed Centre and MESA+ Institute, specializing in Molecular Nanofabrication. His research focuses on nanotechnology, biosensors, surface chemistry, and actinide chemistry. He leads interdisciplinary projects involving chemical reaction networks, sensor development, and materials science.
His work combines experimental and computational approaches to study multivalent interactions, polyelectrolyte complexation, and advanced materials for nuclear waste management. He has developed novel sensors for DNA, ions, and viral particles, leveraging innovations in field-effect transistors and QCM-D technology.
Recent research highlights include programmable autocatalytic chemical networks, superselective DNA binding platforms, and high-efficiency actinide sequestration using tailored ligands. His contributions span over 580 publications, with ongoing collaborations in Europe and beyond.
