Paul Cremer is the J. Lloyd Huck Professor of Chemistry and of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Pennsylvania State University's Eberly College of Science. He holds the J. Lloyd Huck Chair in Natural Sciences and has affiliations with the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on biointerfaces, nanomaterials, spectroscopy, and microfluidics, with a particular emphasis on understanding molecular mechanisms at biological interfaces.
Cremer earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1990) and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (1996). His work integrates lab-on-a-chip platforms to enable high-throughput, low-sample-volume analysis with unprecedented signal-to-noise ratios. Key research areas include multivalent ligand/receptor binding, macromolecule adsorption, Hofmeister effects, and osmolyte interactions.

His research group has developed novel biosensors and analytical platforms, such as pH-modulation sensors and electrophoretic-electroosmotic focusing (EEF) techniques.
