Amir Sheikhi is an Associate Professor and Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Huck Early Career Chair in Biomaterials and Regenerative Engineering at Penn State University. He holds a courtesy appointment in Chemistry and is affiliated with Chemical and Biomedical Engineering.
- Education: B.Sc., M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (University of Tehran), Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (McGill University)
Research Interests focus on micro/nanoengineering of bio-derived soft materials for biomedical and environmental applications. Key areas include:
- Granular hydrogels for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
- Living materials and bioadhesives
- Hairy nanocellulose for ion capture
- Self-healing soft materials
