Assistant Professor Jure Sucur is affiliated with the Department of Archaeology at the University of Zadar, where he has been employed since 2009. He teaches modules and seminars, including leading the course Fundamentals of Modern Archaeology.
- Ph.D. in Science (University of Zadar, 2015) - Research topic: Burial in prehistoric tumuli from late antiquity to the modern era
- Graduate in Geography and Archaeology (University of Zadar, 2006)
His research focuses on medieval and modern archaeology, particularly the archaeology of death, numismatics, and archaeological documentation. He has expertise in GIS, AutoCAD, and web design for archaeological applications, with experience in environmental archaeology, aerial photography, and landscape interpretation. His work includes conservation studies for infrastructure projects spanning dozens of kilometers of highway and power line routes.
Professional experience includes roles at the Archaeological Museum of Zadar, the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments Split, the City Museum of Šibenik, and collaborations with private companies like Kaukal doo and Arheo Plan doo. He has participated in Erasmus workshops (InterKras on karst environmental archaeology, Ditecur on GIS/aerial photography) and the University of Padua summer school.
