Dr. Chapiro’s research focuses on quantitative imaging biomarkers for liver cancer diagnosis, AI-driven therapeutic management, and tools to characterize tumor-immune interactions. His work bridges interventional radiology, hepatology, and biomedical engineering, with over 170 publications and 150 global presentations. Recent studies explore AI in patient selection, immune modulation via ablation, and novel embolic agents.
His lab’s output spans machine learning for prognostics, molecular MRI, and 510(k)-approved medical products. Dr. Chapiro mentors over 70 students and peers, chairs the Society of Interventional Oncology’s Grant Committee, and contributes to ACR’s LI-RADS steering group. He co-initiated the Rising Star Student Exchange Program with Charité Berlin.
