Dr. Julio Fernandez-Mendoza is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, Public Health Sciences, and Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics at Pennsylvania State University. He holds multiple concurrent roles, including Associate Vice Chair for Faculty Research Development in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Penn State College of Medicine. His research focuses on the interplay between sleep disturbances and cardiometabolic, neurocognitive, and psychopathological outcomes, with a strong emphasis on insomnia and sleep apnea. He is also a licensed psychologist specializing in behavioral sleep medicine (BSM), offering treatments like CBT-I for insomnia and chronotherapy for circadian disorders.
