Julio Bros-Williamson

Dr Julio Bros-Williamson is a Chancellor's Fellow in Net-Zero Buildings at the University of Edinburgh's School of Engineering (SoE), affiliated with the Institute of Infrastructure and Environment (IIE). His role is co-funded by the university’s Estates department, focusing on net-zero performance through building envelope testing, retrofit strategies, and Living Lab/Digital Twin development. He holds a PhD from Edinburgh Napier University (2019) on climate change impacts on Scottish dwellings, an MSc in Energy Efficient Building from Oxford Brookes University, and a BArch from Universidad Marista (Mexico City).

His research specializes in building envelope performance, post-occupancy evaluation, and integration of digital tools like point cloud scanners and BIM. He actively contributes to industry initiatives such as the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator Forum and the HCI Skills Gateway board under Scotland's City Region Deal. His teaching includes modules on civil engineering design and architectural technology.

Key memberships include the Royal Institute of Architects Scotland (RIAS), Scottish Ecological Design Association (SEDA), and the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA).
