Julien O'Miel

Julien O'Miel is a Lecturer at the University of Lille and a researcher at the Center for Administrative, Political and Social Studies and Research (CERAPS). He is currently on CNRS delegation to Triangle (UMR 5206) for the 2024/2025 academic year. His research focuses on port workers' mobilizations within logistics capitalism, emphasizing structural power dynamics and their implications for political subjectivity. He employs film ethnography to analyze cases in Genoa and Marseille. Key research areas include participatory democracy, transnational comparisons, and visual sociological methods. Teaching specialties include political science, social science methodologies, and European public action.
