Camille Hamidi

Camille Hamidi is a Professor of Political Science at Lumière Lyon-2 University and a CNRS researcher affiliated with the Triangle laboratory (UMR 5206). She holds a delegation at Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (2023-2025). Her research focuses on non-profit sector dynamics, migration policies, and ethnic politics with a comparative France-US lens. Hamidi's work combines ethnography and qualitative methods to analyze processes of politicization and social inclusion. She is also an associate researcher at the CEU (Science Po Paris) and has held visiting positions at Harvard, UNIL Lausanne, and other institutions.

Education highlights include her 2021 HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) on "La couleur du politique: les usages de l’ethnicité dans les rapports ordinaires au politique" from the University of Picardie Jules Verne. She has supervised doctoral students and led research projects on riots, immigrant mobilizations, and policy implementation.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on political sociology, comparative public policy, and qualitative methods at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has directed the Political Science Department at Lyon II and managed master's programs. Hamidi actively contributes to academic communities through editorial roles in journals and book collections.
