Mgr. Julie Černá, Ph.D. is a researcher at the Department of Medieval Latin Lexicography, Centre for Classical Studies (KKS), Institute of Philosophy, Czech Academy of Sciences (AV ČR). Her work focuses on Medieval Latin Lexicography, Medieval Medical Terminology, and the study of Exemplum in ancient literature, particularly in the writings of Valerius Maximus.
- Education: Ph.D. in Roman Literature (2014), Charles University in Prague; Mgr. in Latin–Greek Studies (2006), Charles University in Prague.
Research interests include the intersection of Greek medical traditions with Latin lexicography, the evolution of Hippocratic concepts in medieval contexts, and the rhetorical use of exempla in Roman texts. She has contributed to projects like the Historical Development of Meteorological Theories and the Corpus Hippocraticum studies. Recent collaborations involve the Horizon Europe project on Environmental and Technology Ethics.
