Julie Swank is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Wittenberg University, specializing in Horn Studies. She earned her undergraduate degree in Music Education from the Capital University Conservatory of Music and a graduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Dayton, alongside Kodaly Certification from the Kodaly Center at Capital University, where she now teaches Folk Song Research and Methodology.

Swank has a distinguished career as a freelance musician, performing principal horn with the Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra for 34 years and participating in ensembles like the Sinclair University Wind Ensemble, Miami Valley British Brass Band, and chamber groups. She also has extensive teaching experience in Ohio public schools, spanning K-12 general music, choir, and band.
Currently, she balances her role at Wittenberg University with performances in orchestras, brass/woodwind quintets, horn quartets, and musical pits. Her career reflects a deep commitment to music education and performance.
