Julie Stevens is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for Secondary Initial Teacher Training at the School of Education, Marjon University. She specializes in Physical Education teacher education across BEd, PGCE, and School Direct programs, alongside mentoring professional development for school mentors. Her academic qualifications include an MA in Education (Sussex University), PGCE in Physical Education and Geography (Exeter University), and a BA in Sports Studies (Bedford College of Physical Education).
Her research interests focus on mentoring strategies in physical education teacher training, professional development, and school improvement. She has contributed to publications such as Mentoring Physical Education Teachers in the secondary school (Routledge) and Learning to Teach Physical Education in Secondary School (Routledge Falmer).
