Dr. Julie Smith is a Lecturer in Development Psychology in Education at the University of Edinburgh, serving as Co-Head of the Institute for Education, Community and Society (IECS) and Director of Quality Assurance and Enhancement. She holds affiliations with Moray House School of Education and Sport and NHS Lothian (honorary contract).
Education: BA (Hons) Psychology (Edinburgh Napier University), MSc Applied Psychology for Children & Young People (University of Edinburgh), PhD Psychology of Learning (University of Glasgow), and PG Cert TLHE in Teaching & PhD Supervision.
Research focuses on metacognition and mathematics learning, pedagogical approaches in STEM, and mental health/wellbeing in higher education.
