Julie Rodman

Dr. Julie Rodman is a Professor of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University's College of Optometry, where she also serves as Clinic Chief for Primary Care at the Broward Eye Care Institute in downtown Fort Lauderdale. She has been a full-time faculty member since 2008, initially joining as part-time faculty in 2000.

Education:

• B.A. in Neuroscience from Brandeis University (1994)
• O.D. from New England College of Optometry (1998)
• Residency in hospital-based optometry at VAMC Brockton/West Roxbury, MA
• M.S. in Clinical Vision Research from Nova Southeastern University (2014)

Her scholarly work focuses extensively on retinal diseases and advanced diagnostic technologies, particularly optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography. She has made significant contributions to understanding vitreo-retinal interface diseases and serves as a principal investigator on multi-center studies examining vitreomacular adhesion prevalence.

Dr. Rodman has established herself as a leading educator in optometry, receiving multiple prestigious teaching awards including the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Clinical Precepting and Preceptor of the Year recognition. She was named among Primary Care Optometry's "Top 300 Innovators in Optometry."

Dr. Rodman serves on the Optovue Advisory Board as a lecturer and consultant, maintains certifications in Oral Pharmaceuticals and Laser procedures, and actively participates in professional organizations including the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Optometric Retina Society.
