Julie Markin serves as Associate Professor of Anthropology, Chair of the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology, and Director of Washington College Archaeology at Washington College.

Dr. Markin's research examines subsistence systems and social inequality in the Southeastern US and Middle Atlantic regions, archaeological ethics frameworks, and the cultural significance of built environments. She pioneers digital methodologies for mapping prehistoric demographic shifts and integrates technology into museum education design.
