Julie Langer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Northern Illinois University, where her research delves into identity, culture, and decision-making in public and nonprofit organizations. Langer's work centers on public management, nonprofit management, organizational behavior, and organizational identity. She investigates how identity orientation influences public participation and how nonprofits leverage culture for effectiveness. Her research bridges theory and practice, examining both rational and substantive dimensions of organizational life.
Her recent publications span Public Management Review, Administration & Society, and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, reflecting a focus on identity, governance, and civic engagement.
