Julie Jones is a Lecturer in Marketing at Aberystwyth Business School, specializing in rural entrepreneurship, marketing strategy, and customer relationship management. She holds a PhD in Rural Entrepreneurship and Consumer Behavior and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Marketing (CIM) and Chartered Marketer. Her research focuses on rural businesses' marketing strategies, trust development, and rural resilience in Wales. She teaches Global and Strategic Marketing, emphasizing practical skills and business readiness.
Julie previously led IBM's EMEA teams for ERP systems and founded a marketing consultancy for SMEs. She is Director of GRRaIN (Growth, Rural Resilience and Innovation Network) and oversees Knowledge Transfer Programs. She also coordinates CIM qualifications for students. Outside academia, she volunteers as Marketing Director for Endurance GB and manages a family farm with endurance horses.
Her awards include Fellowship from CIM and Chartered Marketer status. Julie collaborates with researchers on topics like CRM value chains, facility management outsourcing, and rural sport impacts. She leads projects such as the all-Wales Circular Economy Programme and AMRC Workshops.
