Julie HERMANS-POUPLARD serves as Assistant Professor at the Louvain School of Management, Catholic University of Louvain, and holds a research associate position in the Chair of Excellence for Research and Expertise in Entrepreneurship (CHEREE) at the University of Namur. Her academic work bridges theoretical research with practical applications in entrepreneurial ecosystems and organizational decision-making frameworks.

Her research examines decision-making processes under competing action logics, particularly analyzing tensions between exploration-exploitation in innovation, development-consolidation in growth trajectories, and financial-social mission balancing in social entrepreneurship. She specializes in entrepreneurial cognition, motivation mechanisms, effectuation/causation frameworks, innovation management systems, university-industry collaboration dynamics, and competitiveness cluster development, with emphasis on how entrepreneurs navigate paradoxical demands in complex environments.
Her award-winning contributions include recognition for conceptual excellence at the 11th International Francophone Congress on Entrepreneurship and SMEs.
