Marcus Dejardin is a Professor at Université Catholique de Louvain, specializing in entrepreneurship, economic policy, and regional development. He holds a Doctor of Economics from the University of Namur (2007). His research focuses on entrepreneurship policy, SME innovation strategies, bankruptcy systems, and the impact of regional dynamics on economic growth. He leads projects such as Prime - EntreComp Ya Bana Kin (2023–2028) and SMEsAP - BELSPO, examining SME innovation and growth. With over 112 publications, his work spans entrepreneurship ecosystems, policy effectiveness, and pandemic responses. He contributes to academic journals like Journal of Technology Transfer and Applied Economics, and has been an editorial board member of Management International. His media engagements include expert commentary on Belgian economic reforms and entrepreneurship education.
Dejardin’s research aligns with UN SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). He has supervised 21 academic works and actively participates in conferences, workshops, and policy discussions. His recent studies explore gender perspectives in entrepreneurship policy, entrepreneurial ecosystems’ configurational analysis, and the interplay between bankruptcy laws and SME innovation.
