Juliane Begenau is an Associate Professor of Finance at Stanford Graduate School of Business and Botha-Chan Faculty Scholar (2024–2025). She holds a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and previously taught at Harvard Business School. She is affiliated with NBER and CEPR as a research fellow.
Her research examines financial institutions, macroeconomic linkages, and regulatory frameworks. She develops quantitative models to study banking stability, private equity markets, and corporate finance dynamics across business cycles.
Honors include the WFA Award for Best Paper on Financial Institutions (2016) and multiple faculty scholar appointments. Her current projects analyze private equity fee structures and bank stability mechanisms.
She teaches core finance courses and advanced seminars in empirical corporate finance, focusing on financial intermediation and market dynamics.
