Julian West

Julian West is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Rice University's Department of Chemistry, holding the Norman Hackerman-Welch Young Investigator title. His research focuses on designing novel chemical tools for synthesizing therapeutics and materials, emphasizing earth-abundant element catalysis and sustainable methodologies. He earned a BChem from the University of British Columbia, and MChem/Ph.D. from Princeton University, followed by postdoctoral work at Caltech's Resnick Sustainability Institute.
