Julian CH Lee is the Associate Dean of Global and Language Studies at RMIT University's School of Global, Urban and Social Studies, part of the College of Design and Social Context. He holds a PhD and is a Category 1 PhD supervisor. His research focuses on learning and teaching practices in higher education, with particular emphasis on work-integrated learning (WIL), global studies, and the intersection of education with globalization.
He has received notable awards including the 2024 Learning and Teaching Leadership citation, the 2022 Best Paper Award at ACEN/WIL Australia, and the 2019 Ralph MacIntosh Commendation for student engagement. Julian serves on editorial boards for journals like the International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning and is a member of RMIT's Social Equity Research Centre and the EUATRAN Centre of Excellence (funded by the EU Jean Monnet Award).
His teaching spans courses in international project management, global governance, and statistical literacy for global citizens. He has supervised over 20 research projects on topics ranging from mental health service barriers among migrants to corporate social responsibility in Vietnam. Julian advocates for open access publishing and collaborates with organizations like WIL Australia's Research Committee and the EUATRAN Centre exploring security-trade intersections in education.
