Julian Hanna is an Associate Professor in the Department of Culture Studies at Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences, Tilburg University. His work bridges cultural studies, modernist literature, and speculative design, with a focus on manifestos, avant-garde movements, and digital culture. He holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow (2005), and degrees from Trinity College Dublin and McGill University.

Recent Work: His 2024 book Island explores archipelago dynamics and sustainability through case studies of global islands. Recent articles analyze Apple's 1984 ad legacy and avant-garde manifestos' modern relevance. He co-leads the Futures of Europe project, using manifestos to address contemporary challenges.
