معرفی
Julian Blow is a Professor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at the University of East Anglia (UEA). He holds roles in the Vice-Chancellor's Office and HealthUEA initiatives. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying DNA replication, chromosome maintenance, and cell cycle regulation. Blow leads the Wellcome Trust-funded 'IDEA' project aimed at enhancing diversity and equity in academic access. He has authored over 150 publications, including seminal work on replication licensing and protein degradation systems.
Research Interests: Blow's expertise spans molecular biology, chromosome biology, and therapeutic protein engineering. His lab investigates how DNA replication origins are regulated, the role of kinases like DDK in cell division, and innovative PROTAC-based drug technologies.
Grants & Leadership: As Principal Investigator for the £2.5M Wellcome Trust IDEA project (2024–2026), he drives institutional change in academic equity. He chairs the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine (since 2022) and previously led University of Cambridge committees (2020–2023).
Key Activities: Blow has organized major conferences like 'Science Saturday: Guardians of the Genome' (2020) and presented at the ICSA Annual Conference (2019). He serves on peer-review panels and editorial boards, contributing to Journal of Biological Chemistry and Biology.
