Julia Mizutani is an Adjunct Professor of Law and Law Research, Instruction, and Liaison Librarian at Cornell University's Cornell Law School. She earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2019 and worked for three years as a civil rights attorney with the ACLU of Washington, focusing on impact litigation and policy advocacy related to economic justice in housing and juvenile legal systems.

Her research interests include civil rights, race equity, and systemic inequality in legal frameworks, with a focus on housing, juvenile justice, and environmental justice. Julia's scholarly work explores racialized notions of professionalism, Whiteness in legal discourse, and the intersection of policy reform with social justice.
Julia's publications reflect trends in critical race theory, legal advocacy, and systemic reform. Her recent works analyze professional misconduct in legal systems (2024), racial bias in professionalism standards (2023), and race disparities in juvenile justice (2022). Earlier research (2020-2018) examines Whiteness as a social construct and environmental justice in segregated neighborhoods.
