Julia Mackintosh is a Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire’s Schools of Law and Education. She currently serves as lead tutor for primary School Direct Salaried (SDS) routes, subject lead for primary geography, and primary science tutor. With 12 years of prior primary school teaching experience, she specialized in science leadership and teacher training coordination. Her research focuses on teacher professional development, collaborative learning via Lesson Study, and primary science subject leadership through initiatives like the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM).
Education: BA (Hons), PGCE, MEd in Education.
Research interests include mentorship approaches for student teachers, personalized educator training, and improving primary science education through structured programs. Her work has been applied in projects evaluating teacher training effectiveness and science education initiatives.
