Julia Glenn is a violinist and faculty member at Brandeis University, where she performs with the Naumburg-winning Lydian String Quartet. Previously, she taught at the Tianjin Juilliard School as violin and music theory faculty. Her research explores Chinese contemporary music through a phonological lens, culminating in her dissertation, “Hearing in Tone: A Phonetic Approach to the Analysis and Performance of Chinese Contemporary Music.”
