معرفی
Julia Glaum is a Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at NTNU, leading the research area of Active Biomedical Ceramics. Her work focuses on functional materials for in vivo sensors, actuators, and cell-stimulating scaffolds, with projects addressing metal-ceramic interfaces, piezoelectric coatings, and material behavior under clinical procedures.
She holds a diploma in Physics from Justus Liebig Universität Gießen (2006) and a PhD from Technische Universität Darmstadt (2009), followed by postdoctoral research at UNSW Australia and NTNU. Promoted to Associate Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2022, she has received prestigious awards, including the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (2015–2017) and the Jovanka-Bontschits Prize (2012).
Her research integrates materials science and biomedical engineering, emphasizing ceramic-liquid interfaces, electroceramics, and functional coatings. Key contributions include studies on piezoelectric ceramics’ behavior under mechanical stress and in liquid media, as well as oxygen absorption in hexagonal manganites. Collaborations with institutions like ACS and IEEE highlight interdisciplinary impact.
Notable grants include the Nano2021 project (RCN, 2020–2025) and the Outstanding Academics Fellow Program (NTNU, 2017–2022). Her work bridges fundamental materials science with biomedical applications, addressing challenges in implant materials and sensor design.
