Prof. Dr. Juichi Takahashi is a faculty member at the Department of Environmental and Planning Law within the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research − UFZ (Leipzig, Germany). He also holds an Honorary Professor position at Yokohama National University (since 2023) and serves as a Professor at Senshu University (since 2018). His academic career spans roles at Yokohama National University (2004–2002), Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (2002), and Ibaraki University (1990–1985). He is affiliated with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) − Academy for Environmental Law and the German Nature Conservation Law Association.
Research Interests: His work focuses on environmental governance, climate policy, chemical regulations in circular economy, and bioeconomy governance. He investigates how legal frameworks and policy narratives drive sustainability transformations, particularly in urban planning, climate adaptation, and environmental sociology.
