Dr. Judy Williams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at West Texas A&M University's Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences. She joined the university in 2009 and previously served as Head of the Education Department (2013-2016) and Associate Dean of TRCOESS (2017-2022). Dr. Williams directs the Williams Children’s Literature Collection and Reading Room located in Old Main 214.
Her educational background includes a B.S. in Education (1977) and M.Ed. in Reading (2005) from West Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in language and literacy from Texas Tech University (2012).
Dr. Williams teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in reading and early childhood education. Her research focuses on multicultural children’s literature and integrating English language arts across content subject areas.
