Judy Wajcman serves as the Anthony Giddens Professor of Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science and holds a dual affiliation as Principal Investigator for the Women in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence research project at the Alan Turing Institute. She concurrently serves on the AI100 Standing Committee and maintains status as a Fellow of the British Academy.
Her research critically examines intersections between technology, gender, and social organization, with particular emphasis on how digital systems reshape work patterns, temporal experiences, and power structures. Key contributions include theoretical frameworks analyzing the gendered dimensions of technological design and the sociological implications of algorithmic systems in contemporary capitalism.
