Judy Grant is a professional flutist and educator with a distinguished career in music performance and pedagogy. She serves as a Lecturer in flute performance at Boston College, where she has taught undergraduate and graduate students for 17 years. Her expertise extends to the Boston Flute Academy, which she founded, and she has previously held teaching roles at UMass Boston, Atlantic Union College/Thayer Conservatory, All Newton Music School, Brookline Music School, and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.

Ms. Grant is celebrated for her ability to cultivate student excellence, with her pupils regularly securing positions in top-tier youth orchestras such as the Boston Youth Symphony and NEC’s Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Her students have achieved national recognition in the National Flute Association High School Soloist Competition, earning First Prize in 2010 and multiple finalist positions.
Her pedagogical approach incorporates training from renowned flutists Leone Buyse (Boston Symphony Orchestra) and Brooks de Wetter-Smith, emphasizing both orchestral and solo performance techniques across Baroque to contemporary styles. She has contributed to community music initiatives and has been featured in media outlets for her work in underserved youth education.
