Judy Bowen

Judy Bowen is an Associate Professor in Software Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. Originally from South Wales, she moved to New Zealand in 1999 and earned both her MSc and PhD at the University of Waikato, focusing on formal methods for interactive system design.

• Research Interests: Span software engineering and human-computer interaction, with emphasis on interactive system design, model-driven development and testing, and the societal impacts of ubiquitous technology, wearable devices, and IoT solutions.
• Leadership: Leads the Human-Centred Computing group at the University of Waikato, overseeing large-scale projects in wearable technology, medical device design, and model-driven development.

Available Lectures: Includes topics such as Designing for Inaccessible People and Places, Humans in the Loop: Human Centred Computing for the Internet of Things, and Wearable Technology in the Wild, which explore participatory design, IoT integration, and advancements in wearable health monitoring devices.
