Prof. Judith Simon is a Full Professor for Ethics in Information Technology at the University of Hamburg's Department of Informatics. Her research focuses on the ethical, epistemological, and political implications of digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and digitalization. She serves as Deputy Chair of the German Ethics Council and previously led their working group on 'Humans and Machines – Challenges of Artificial Intelligence'. Simon has advised numerous national committees, including the German Federal Government's Data Ethics Commission (2018-2019). She is also editor of the Routledge Handbook of Trust and Philosophy (2020) and contributes to editorial boards of journals like Philosophy and Technology and Big Data & Society.
