Judith Shemer is a Teaching Professor at Arizona State University's School of International Letters and Cultures (SILC), specializing in Modern Hebrew language and Middle Eastern Studies. Since 2008, she has spearheaded the development of ASU’s Modern Hebrew program, which includes language courses, cultural studies, and study abroad opportunities in Israel. In 2015, she contributed to the approval of the Certificate in Modern Hebrew program. Her teaching spans Elementary to Advanced Modern Hebrew, alongside courses on Israeli Society and Culture, Modern Israeli Literature in Translation, and Israeli Wars in Israeli Movies.
