Judith Beto

Judith Beto serves as a prominent figure in nutrition and dietetics, currently holding positions as Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics IDEA Committee (2023-present) and President of the International Affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAAND) for 2024-2025. Affiliated with Dominican University, she has established herself through significant research contributions and leadership roles in the field of nutrition science.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Education-MESA from the University of Chicago (1990), an MHPE from the University of Illinois at the Medical Center (1978), and a BA in Foods and Nutrition from Rosary College, Dominican University (1973).

Dr. Beto's research focuses on renal nutrition, cardiovascular disease management, and nutrition education methodologies. Her work bridges clinical practice with educational frameworks, particularly in developing effective counseling techniques and dietary interventions for specialized patient populations. She has made significant contributions to understanding hyperphosphatemia management in renal disease and potassium regulation in kidney conditions.
