Tonia Reinhard is a Clinical Associate Professor at Wayne State University’s Department of Nutrition and Food Science, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds an M.S. and is a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) and Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND). Her roles include teaching courses such as Community Nutrition, Nutrition and Disease, and Supervised Practice modules. She has served on key committees like the Governor’s Expert Committee on Childhood Obesity and the Oakland County Child Obesity Committee. Past leadership includes presidency of the Michigan Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Michigan Nutrition and Dietetics Institute.

Her research interests focus on nutrition’s role in disease management, community health, and gastrointestinal health. She has authored eight books and numerous publications for both professionals and consumers. Her work includes international workshops on the nutrition care process in Malaysia and presentations to diverse groups including medical professionals and community organizations.
Her teaching spans multiple terms (2023–2025) across courses like Nutrition Care Process I and II, emphasizing practical supervised learning. Awards include recognition as an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Fellow.
