Judit Novak is an Associate Professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Teacher Education and School Research. Her research focuses on education governance, policy, and the juridification of education systems. She holds a Ph.D. from Uppsala University (2018) and has been a visiting scholar at institutions in New Zealand and the U.S.
Her work examines legal frameworks in education, particularly how governance agencies mediate between state policies and local institutions. Key projects include studies on curriculum reforms, student retention strategies, and the establishment of educational law programs. She supervises Ph.D. candidates and teaches courses on educational law, leadership, and research methods.
Awards include the 2019 Exzellenzstipendium (Austria) and 2016 Selggrens stipendium (Sweden). She serves on editorial boards and steering committees for educational law initiatives, reflecting her leadership in interdisciplinary scholarship.
