Judie Knowles

Judie Knowles serves as a Senior Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care and School of Nursing. A registered adult nurse with extensive NHS management and research experience, she transitioned to academia in 2011 after senior roles at London South Bank University and NHS trusts.

Her educational credentials include a Doctorate in Education (EdD) from London South Bank University (2017), MSc in Nursing Research & Practice Development, Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and BSc (Hons) in Professional Nursing Practice. Additional qualifications span nursing certification (Romford School of Nursing, 1990) and teaching credentials (City & Guilds).

Research focuses on equality and diversity in clinical placements, evidenced by her 2017 EdD thesis examining dyslexic nursing students' experiences. She co-led the 'Harnessing disABILITY project' studying staff disability management in teaching and investigated lecturer-practice placement linkages (2006-2008). Her pedagogy emphasizes adapting to students' social, economic, and political backgrounds.

Publications reveal evolving expertise from rheumatology nursing (2001-2008) to contemporary nursing education challenges, with recent works addressing sustainable workforce development, research critique methodologies, and inclusive clinical placements.
