Judi Porter is an Adjunct Professor (Research) in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics & Food at Monash University, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. She also holds an external position as Senior Research Fellow in Allied Health at Eastern Health. Her academic and research work is deeply rooted in clinical nutrition, particularly focusing on older adults, foodservices, and evidence-based methodologies such as systematic reviews and clinical trials.

Her research interests center on clinical nutrition, especially in aging populations, including energy expenditure, metabolic rate, dietary management of IBS, and sustainable hospital foodservices. She employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, with a strong emphasis on developing predictive models and behavior change interventions. Recent work includes developing age-specific equations for energy needs, reducing food waste in hospitals, and evaluating long-term outcomes of the low FODMAP diet.
Her most recent publications show a strong trend toward integrating nutrition science with sustainability, geriatric rehabilitation, and implementation science. She frequently publishes in high-impact journals such as The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, with a focus on clinically applicable tools and systemic interventions.
