Dr. Juanxi Wang is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Oxford Brookes Business School and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam and Bielefeld University, supported by an EDEEM fellowship from the European Commission. His research focuses on financial market instability, using computational methods and econometric analysis. Previously, he held roles at Cranfield University, Glasgow Caledonian University, and the University of Strathclyde.
Education: PhD in Economics (University of Amsterdam/Bielefeld University, 2015), supported by EDEEM fellowship. Earlier roles include Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University and KTP Associate at Strathclyde University.
Research interests include behavioral finance, economy transitions, green finance, and housing markets. He employs agent-based modeling and complexity theory to study financial systems' tipping points. Publications span journals like Journal of Chinese Economic and Foreign Trade Studies and International Journal of Hospitality Management.
His articles analyze topics such as digital finance's role in green transformation, asset pricing dynamics, and early warning signals for financial crises. Awards include recognition from the Higher Education Academy and the Institute for New Economic Thinking.
Supervision focuses on PhD projects in financial markets and ESG finance. Consultancy work includes economic impact modeling for BiP Solution Limited. Active in academic reviewing and international conferences on financial dynamics and econometrics.
