Juanita Becker is a Professor in the Department of Music at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC), where she has been teaching since 2001. Prior to joining WLC, she served as an Assistant Professor of Piano at Truman State University (1998–2001). Her expertise lies in Piano Performance, Music Theory, and pedagogy, with a focus on preparing students for service in church music contexts. She holds a Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University and has a longstanding commitment to music ministry, beginning at age 12 in Florida.

Research Interests:
Becker’s research explores Dutch composers, such as Henriette Bosmans, and their underrepresented works. Her doctoral treatise on Bosmans led to conference presentations, a CD compilation, and a published biography. She has also collaborated internationally, including a guest artist role with the Barbados National Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2014 and a 2012 CD release featuring Dutch chamber music. These efforts highlight her mission to introduce audiences to lesser-known composers and their contributions to classical music.
Service and Affiliations:
Becker actively serves WLC’s Music Department, coordinating student accompanists and acting as the liaison for adjunct instructors and the Philomusica String Quartet in Residence. She has contributed to institutional committees such as the Rank and Promotion Committee and the Assessment Committee. Additionally, she sponsors the student organization 'Crafting for a Cause' and has been an organist at Nain Lutheran Church since 2020.

She oversees the Student Accompanying Program and collaborates with the Philomusica String Quartet in Residence, fostering opportunities for ensemble performance and academic engagement. Her work extends to international music education through her involvement with the Barbados National Youth Symphony Orchestra workshops.
