Juan Vicente Riera Clapés

Dr. Juan Vicente Riera Clapés is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. He also serves as a secondary school teacher but is currently on leave of absence. He teaches courses in Primary Education and the Master's Degree in Teacher Training, acting as an academic tutor for the latter.

His research focuses on fuzzy logic, particularly aggregation functions, logical connectives, discrete fuzzy numbers, and decision-making processes. He is a member of the Soft Computing, Image Processing, and Aggregation (SCOPIA) research group, with publications in international scientific journals and contributions to over twenty national and international conferences.

As a reviewer for leading journals in his field, he contributes to academic quality assurance. He has organized special sessions at conferences and actively participated in teacher training courses as a coordinator, speaker, and assistant. Additionally, he has supervised various undergraduate and master's theses, with two recognized six-year research periods and three five-year teaching periods.
