Juan Ricardo Carhuapoma

Dr. Juan Ricardo Carhuapoma is an Associate Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He specializes in critical care medicine, intracerebral/subarachnoid hemorrhage, and intracranial hypertension. A graduate of Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (MD), he completed neurology residency at Henry Ford Hospital and fellowship in neurological critical care at Johns Hopkins.

His research focuses on:

• Advanced stroke management techniques
• Pharmacological interventions in hemorrhagic events
• Clinical protocols in neurocritical care
• Brain death diagnostic criteria
