معرفی
Juan Calderon Bustillo is a Ramón y Cajal Researcher at the Galician Institute of High Energy Physics (IGFAE), affiliated with the Department of Particle Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela. His work centers on theoretical frameworks in high-energy physics through the TEOFPACC research group (Theory and Phenomenology of Particles, Astroparticles, Fields and Strings).
Education
- PhD in Theoretical Physics, Universitat de les Illes Balears (2015). Thesis: "Sub-dominant modes of the gravitational radiation from compact binary coalescences: construction of hybrid waveforms and impact on gravitational wave searches" under Dr. Sascha Husa and Dr. Alicia Magdalena Sintes Olives.
Research Focus
His expertise spans gravitational wave physics, particle phenomenology, and string theory, with emphasis on modeling gravitational radiation from compact binaries. Current work integrates numerical relativity and post-Newtonian methods to refine waveform templates for detectors like LIGO/Virgo, advancing multi-messenger astronomy and tests of general relativity.
Research Environment
As part of IGFAE's TEOFPACC group, he collaborates on cross-disciplinary projects bridging particle physics, cosmology, and gravitational-wave astrophysics within Spain's premier high-energy research institute.
