Sascha Husa

Sascha Husa is an Associate Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands, specializing in numerical relativity, gravitational wave phenomenology, and black hole physics. He leads waveform modeling efforts for gravitational wave detection and contributes to international collaborations like LIGO.

His research focuses on modeling gravitational wave sources using high-performance computing, with applications in binary black hole systems. The resulting waveform models are standard tools for gravitational wave event identification.

He is co-PI of the UIB gravitational wave project (FPA2016-76821-P), a LIGO Council member (since 2015), and associate of ICTS Bangalore (since 2014). His scientific contributions include over 200 publications with >3,500 citations and h-index >80.
