João Varela

João Varela is a University Professor and Researcher at the University of Algarve's Centre for Marine Sciences (CCMAR). He holds roles as Research Group Leader and Member of the Scientific Council. His career began in 1985 with genetics teaching support at the University of Lisbon, followed by an MSc in Molecular Biology (1990) and a PhD in Amsterdam (1995).
