João Sebastião is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy at ISCTE-Lisbon University Institute and an integrated researcher at CIES-IUL (Center for Research and Studies in Sociology). He served as Director of CIES-IUL from 2014 to 2020. His research focuses on social inequalities in education, educational policies, and school violence.
