Jovonnie Esquierdo-Leal

Dr. Jovonnie Esquierdo-Leal is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at California State University, Fresno. She earned her BA and MA from Fresno State and her PhD from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her expertise spans cultural-behavior science, leadership, social justice, and organizational behavior management. She coordinates the ABAI Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board and co-leads the ABAI DEI Program Area.

Her research focuses on systemic change through leadership, DEI initiatives, and applying behavior analysis to organizational culture. Recent work addresses healthcare equity and feedback systems in education.

Dr. Esquierdo-Leal contributes to peer-reviewed journals and book chapters on topics like prejudice reduction in healthcare and policy through culturo-behavioral lenses. She actively participates in the Behaviorists for Social Responsibility SIG of ABAI.
