معرفی
Prof. Josiah Ochieng holds the rank of Professor in Cancer Biology and Biochemistry at the School of Medicine of the Medical University of South Carolina (MMC). His research focuses on metastasis mechanisms, protein signaling pathways, and extracellular vesicle biology in cancer. Key areas include the roles of Fetuin-A, Galectin-3, and Toll-like receptor 4 in tumor progression and microenvironment interactions.
Research interests span breast and prostate cancer pathogenesis, with emphasis on exosome-mediated communication, drug resistance mechanisms, and therapeutic target identification. His work integrates proteomics and molecular biology approaches to uncover novel biomarkers and signaling pathways.
Over 30 peer-reviewed publications demonstrate expertise in metastasis, exosome biology, and extracellular matrix interactions. Recent work explores Annexin A6's role in cytokine secretion and EGFR-targeted therapies, as well as Fetuin-A's modulation of tumor growth through exosome sequestration.
Labs/Teams: Ochieng Laboratory focuses on translational cancer research with active projects on protein-drug interactions and tumor microenvironment dynamics.
